Understanding Teacher Educators’ Perceptions and Practices about ICT Integration in Teacher Education Program

This study explored the perceptions and practices of teacher educators in integrating information communication Technology (ICT) education programs. The adopted a phenomenological design under qualitative research approach that included eighteen selected participants from university college. Data collection employed semi-structured interviews, observations, documentary reviews. authors Braun Clarke (2006) thematic analysis model for data analysis. findings showed while young inexperienced teachers readiness to use ICT, some do not understand logic behind using technology hence question rationale applying it their teaching. At same time, equipment challenges, large teaching burdens, time limits were critical barriers integration. Again, revealed different software learning platforms, social media, gather online information, access materials through journal subscriptions enhance preservice teachers’ learning. Thus, ICT during training is paramount, should be assisted encouraged develop positive attitudes apply practices. Concomitantly, equipping with ICT-based pedagogical skills, only specialized courses, but also observing how it, has significant impact on transforming future classrooms.
